Now there is a new industry: Marijuana Growers.

Therefore; there must be new regulations.

AWES has spoken to various EPA regulatory people. The regulators initially said NONE of the water used for hydroponic growing could be discharged to the sewer system. Apparently they are concerned about how the nutrients in the water to grow the plants would affect the wastewater treatment plant at the end of the sewer the growers would discharge into. The regulators “changed their” mind; for now. They are in the process of reviewing this wastewater to determine if special regulations: treatment and disposal will be required.
